After we left Sinsheimm, we tried to find the scenic way to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, but mamnged to get annoyed with the lack of a decent map and road signs and followed the motorway instead. Once in Rothenburg, we were allowed to drive our car into the alte Stadt (old city) as we were staying in the old city wall. This is very interesting as the roads are very narrow, cobblestones and we are surrounded by an old castle wall. Once we found our B&B for the night, we parked the car, booked in and went into our room. What an awesome place. It is a 600 year old house with very creaky floorboards and a huge old key to unlock our door. In our room there are 2 paintings on a small part of the wall that dates back to 1620! Once we settled in, it was straight down stair to eat at the resteraunt that the B&B runs. Again Schnitzel for Mazz and Daniel and Paul and Josh had the very German bratwurst, sauerkraut and potatoes. YUM!
At 8pm in the town market square in front of the town hall, we joined a tour of the Night Watchman. We spent and hour walking around the old town of Rothenburg, hearing the history and duties of a night watchman and of the city itself throughout the ages. It was very interesting and informative and the tour guide was dressed in costume-he reminded us of someone you would see in a monty python movie. When the tour finished, we went for a brief stroll along the city wall that surrounds the old city of Rothenburg. Just to let you know, this is Paul and my most favourite town in all of Germany. We love it here and we hope that some of the photos on this blog and tomorrows will show you why.

We miss you, too. We were all feeling very sad yesterday and Hakim was pulling out his atlas and counted the miles to Australia. In fact he said, maybe we should meet in the middle. Australia is too far away. So Singapore would be definetly an option. Lufthansa offers flights every day to Singapore :) Again We thank YOU for spending time with us. Have a lot of fun! BIG HUGS from the whole family
