After another breakfast of croissants and chocolate we checked out of our hotel and hit the road. It was time to say goodbye to France hello to England The day was overcast and starting to rain, (we are heading to England after all!) Next stop Calais, to board the train (The Euro Tunnel) and cross under the English Channel. Driving onto the train was interesting, it felt like we were cattle being herded onto a truck. The train only had small widows and it felt a little claustrophobic. And then we were on our way. We all felt our ears pop as we started to decend. It was a little unsettling at first, but we soon got used to it. Overall the total crossing only took about 35 minutes. We drove off the train and it was raining! (what did we expect?) At least in England we can drive on the correct side of road, even if the steering wheel is now on the wrong side of the car.
The drive to London was unevenful, we checked into hotel, just a stones throw (about 300m) from the tower of London. The only down side to our Hotel is that we don't have free Wi-fi, so not sure how much you will hear from us for the next few days.
After settling in to our hotel we headed off for the underground to get our bearings and get some dinner. We decided on Pizza in Leicester square, near all the West End shows. If we're lucky (and haven't spent all our money by then!) we might try to see a show later in the week.
